Our Little Story

We are proud to serve our community and plan to grow with them! Find out more about our awesome organization by checking out the Gallery and Team page.

BDVFD started serving the communities of Brock and Dennis in 1965 with two trucks and a two-bay station which wasn’t much more than a garage, situated by the school building on Grindstone rd. At that time staffing was mostly local high school students as we continued to grow.

Today we cover 105 square miles in southwest Parker county while serving a community of over 3000 people. On average the Brock & Dennis VFD responds to a little over 300 calls for service which would be impossible if not for the unwavering support of the community, both financially and in staffing. Because of this support we now have three stations and over ten various vehicles in our fleet to provide fire, rescue, and first responder services.

In 2011 our funding changed from strictly donations to the formation of an Emergency Services District(ESD#9). This allowed for taxation that better spread the cost of service over all property owners in the District allowing for a consistent source of revenue and budgeting which has been imperative to our success and growth.

Today the BDFVD maintained a volunteer staff of approximately 30 members. These men & women spend many hours away from family for training and responding to calls. Without them there would not be a first class Fire & Rescue service that the community could depend on. In 2017 the BDVFD hired their first full-time member as Fire Chief whom is now on duty 8-5 M-F while still serving 24/7 on-call.
